JULIAN (film excerpt) from Antonio da Silva Films on Vimeo.

To watch the full length film or further information email:
antoniodasilvafilms@gmail.com

A cross between a road-trip in Portugal and a summer love story, shot in super 8 film. It is the junction of a poetic narrative with factual and personal elements. Julian is represented here as the “noble savage” of Rousseau: nature is his natural environment. Julian is like Adam, the embodiment of various myths created by mankind.

GINGERS / teaser from Antonio da Silva Films on Vimeo.

GINGERS. Redheads. Fire crotches… This film collects samples of their testimonials and their body hair, skin and sperm. It is about being different genetically, about gay gingers, doubly in a minority, from Ireland to Israel to Brazil. A film made especially for ginger lovers.

Part 4/6.
A series of 6 animations were originally made for the graphic festival Beyonderground.
The movies served as inbetween animations to announce the start of each lecture at the festival.
Although Beyonderground is about graphic design and illustration, it also focuses on the relation between music and graphics. This approach inspired me to make these animated musical interludes (based on the overload of covers people upload on youtube).

zenfabulous:

My favorite bits of Koyaanisqatsi are these, with slowed-all-the-way-down eye contact (or eye-camera contact) with people on the street interspersed, putting you right there with all there is to be there with, all the humanity, be it their flattery, their anger, their fear … so absolute, and heartbreaking, and no less stunning now, so many decades and hyper-speeds later.
